Scarecrow Basket

Today was a very craft day here in the Harper Household.
I know on Facebook I mentioned I would be sharing the Fall painting that the boys made today, but can't find the cord to my camera to load the pictures ..aghhh !! ... so instead I'm going to share with you the cute little door decoration I made yesterday (Can't really call it a wreath.)
All I used was a scarecrow from Wal-Mart for .99 cents, a spool of ribbon and a bunch of leaves both from Dollar Tree and a basket I got for .49 cents from Goodwill ... (I know there is orange'ish flowers in the picture below but didn't like this very much so decided against using them)
Simple enough: I cut a piece of ribbon to wrap around the basket, trimmed the leaves to fit around the scarecrow in the basket and ta-da !!
~ Easy-peasy ~

Red, White & Blue

Here's the wreath I made last year for Memorial Day.

I love the glittery stars on the top that the Corey got for me when we stopped in Michael's last year and we snagged for 10 cents each ! Score ! !

They made the wreath ten times better.

Bonus: This wreath is not only my Memorial Day Wreath but also my Fourth of July, Veteran's Day, etc. Super simple to make: I just picked up 5-6 bunches of flowers from the .99 cent store and used wire cutters to cut the stem/wire off as close as I could to the flower. Than I used the hot glue gun to attach them, tied some string to the bottom and hot glued the stars onto the top using hot glue also.

I love everything Red, White and Blue.

Don't you ? ?

Spring Time Wreath

I must say I like making wreaths more in the spring than in the fall,

the flowers are brighter, more cheerful, and there

is way more variety to choose from.

Jelly Bean Wreath

So I Taelor was showing signs of getting better than went down hill fast. . . and to make matters worse I ended up with strep throat too . . yuck !!!. . hence the absence again but we're all better and have tons of fun crafts planned.

To be honest I'm not a fan of Jelly Beans but I love them because they're so colorful ! ! Perfect for a spring time wreath. Here's what I used: a flat wood wreath ring, two bags of jelly beans (even though three are pictured), and my ever handy dandy hot glue gun. I should have closed the blinds to take the picture but it was such a beautiful day out. . . any who getting back on track her . . I placed two jelly beans side to side one after the other all the way around the ring. Here's a close up so you can see what I meant by putting the jelly beans side to side.

I forgot to snap a picture of what I did next but you can see it in this picture, I went back and in the middle, on the top of the jelly beans I put side to side I put another line of jelly beans. Added a pretty yellow ribbon and finished ! ! Happy Crafting ! !

St. Patricks Day Fabric Wreath

You knew it was come after seeing how awesome my Valentine Fabric Wreath turned out I knew I had to make one for St. Patricks Day !
I did it the same started off with four different fabric . . a quarter of a yard each, three were various green patterns I got on sale at Joann's and the other was a cute St. Patricks Day pattern I got from Wal-Mart. I cut each fabric into long strips, about an inch wide.

Than proceed to start tying onto the wreath.

Here's the wreath when I was done tying on the fabric,
but just like with the Valentine Wreath it
looked like it was missing something . .
So I went back to the store and
found this cute 3D Shamrock for 50% off
Love it !

Clothes Pin Heart

While out blog hopping :) I saw this adorable clothes pin heart
(BUT I can't remember the blog I saw it on to link back,
so if any of you Awesome followers know please,
please send me the link so I can link back to her.)
Thanks

EDIT : I'm so excited , guess who found me :) Jenn from Clean and Scentsible, the original creator of the Clothes Pin Wreath. YEA ! ! !

Now onto the Craft

I started out by spacing out and clipping clothes
pins to a firm piece of paper.

Next I cut out different strips of scrapbook paper,
I made each strip a little longer than the clothes pin so I had
something to hold onto while I mod podge the paper to the pin
Isn't Modge Podge the best ? ?
The white paper on left looks a little bumpy because
I hadn't scraped the extra modge pod off yet :)

All my pins drying . . .
Notice the extra paper hanging off the pins . . .

When they were done drying I flipped them over and

used a razor blade to cut them off.

Next, I had the Man of the House bend my hanger into a heart . . .

my attempts kept coming out looking like a kidney :)

My heart and pins ready to go . . .

After a while clipping on and moving around until the pattern
looked
perfect, I put just a little dab of hot glue to secure them to the hanger.

Easy Valentine Fabric Wreath

I must admit I have an obsession with wreaths.
I used to only make them with fake flowers BUT now I'm in love with fabric wreaths.. so simple and easy to make, whats not to love ? First thing I did was drop in at Joanne's and pick out some pink,
red and Valentine themed fabrics, and lucky for me they
were having a 30% off sale on all the fabric I picked out :)

I picked out 6 different fabrics and got a quarter of a yard each = $5.45

After cutting the quarter yards in smaller pieces I made small cuts on the top of each fabric with sissorers than tore them the rest of the way with my hands :)

Here's my pile after 5 or so minutes of tearing.
Next, I just started putting them onto the wreath with a simple little bow.
All done but I'm thinking it still might need something

hmmmmm ? ? ?

Close up of the very cute heart filled fabric I used.
