A Sweet Frame

I found this frame at Dollar Tree and loved the detail on it which is funny because when I came up with the idea for this project, I was looking thrugh my stash of frames and just was looking for one that was flat and this was the only one that was and the detail ended up completely covered by project end. I started off by painting my frame red.
Next I grab my leftover Sweethearts from the topiary I made with them and went to work. I started on the inside of the frame so I could make sure all sides were straight rows to began with.

After a half hour or so I had all of the sweethearts glued on.
I really like how it turned out but once I placed my picture in,

it still seemed to be missing something.
So I added a bigger Sweetheart and a cute little bow behind it.

I love how this frame turned out. Love it ! !

I'm bias but my boys make it even cuter.

Even sweeter next to my Sweetheart Topiary.
Click here for a tutorial on the topiary.

Now off to see what else I can create with Sweethearts,
because after three project
with them I still have some leftovers.

  1. Love this too! I was thinking of how you would preserve these over the years and I wonder if maybe some clear spray would help keep them together so you can reuse them next year. Do you think it would work?

  3. Very cute kristie! I put the left over hearts in a vase next to my project and the kids have been playing with them. I have found them all over the house. I know a few have been consumed as well although they really don't like them except to play with. Great idea for the frame!

  33. I love this frame. I would like to feature it in an article I am writing for Everything Mom. I will use an image and then link to this post. I will not copy any of your work. My hope is to get people to come over here and read your great tutorial and do this project with their kids. Let me know if you would prefer it not be featured. Thanks. :-)
